*Riley doesn't answer my question, and I can't help but wonder if he even heard me. I bite my lip when he mentions prisoners to be interrogated, and I know I should probably tell him about the escape of the two captured killjoys, but decide that's news better saved for later. He's trying very hard to look composed, but his exhaustion is apparent, along with something else I can't identify.* If you don't mind my suggestion, Riley, we should be heading out. These men have jobs to do, after all. *I nod towards the remaining guards, as the two who'd escorted the Oracle out return from the hall* It might be more prudent to continue operations from your office.

*I nod. Vico's right, of course. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm used to thinking faster than everyone else, but now I feel... it doesn't matter. Nothing a pot of coffee can't cure. I get up and head for the elevators, automatically swiping my card and entering. The ride up is quick and we make it to the apartment with no incidents. I go over to look out the widow, down on the city. I lean ever so slightly on the glass*

((I'm going to assume that the rest of us are still here unless told otherwise.))
*We slowly make our way back to the city, supporting those with injuries. It ends up taking much longer than the half an hou I expected. By the time we are let through the checkpoint (the process takes twice as long as before, but I know it's for the safety of the city), it's been hours since we left the city. The able-bodied help bring the injured up to the hospital wing before heading back to their homes to collapse. I head back to my cubicle and start typing up an incident report. Sure, I'm a bit tired, but someone needs to do it. Anyway, it's already morning, time for work. I couldn't go home to sleep!*

*The next morning dawns bright and clear, and I'm back at the Tower by 7 am. Riley doesn't answer when I knock lightly on his door, and I assume he's either still sleeping or already out. He's not one to make the same mistake twice, so I'm not worried about him. I spend the morning checking up on my email, filling out paperwork, and returning a few phone calls. Standard busywork, really. I'm eager to hear how the unit's mission went, though, and by the time noon rolls around I decide I've done enough for the morning, and head down the hall to the cubicle maze. Somewhere in here there have to be unit members... Main, perhaps, or Angeline. In no hurry, I walk up one row and down another, looking for a familiar face*

*I end up finishing most of my papers before the day starts, but when it comes to a list of the injured who will be getting time off work to recuperate, I'm lost. I can't remember which ones there were, or even whether there were ten or eleven. I stand up, about to go get some coffee to keep me awake, and stop to pull a tiny sliver of glass out of my knee. I hate those Killjoys. I toss the thing in a trash can and literally run straight into Vico the second I turn out of my cubicle.* Oh, I'm sorry!

*I stumble back a step, but catch myself. Grinning, I straighten my jacket.* Hello there, Angeline. In a rush? Mind if I join you? I want to hear all about the mission.

Um, I was just going to get some coffee. You can come if you'd like. *I start walking off to the lounge. Vico shows no signs of leaving.* Well, let me just start by saying that it was going well until the Killjoys ran their car into us.

I'd be honored to join you! *Hands in my pockets, I pace Angeline, still keeping an eye out for any other unit members* They ran their car into you? They do seem to have a knack for doing that sort of thing. Any injuries or captures?

Injuries on whose side? All of them were hurt at least a bit, with three to a state where we could have taken them and they wouldn't resist. The problem was, we had no car that was capable of driving, and about half the unit was wounded, so we couldn't exactly bring any of them back. *I grimace and look at my feet. Any way I rephrase it in my head, it's a failure for us. And I promised to make the company proud...why can I never do that?* Um, if I may get an opinion, do you think I would be better off if I were to leave the actual fighting unit and work at a desk full-time? It seems that most missions with me on the team are failures.

*I hadn't been in the Tower long and was only on my first cup of coffee when I turn to see Pacis and Vico (I belive) Walking towards me. I walk the distance between us with a smile on my face.* Morning, how are you two? *I didn't really know anyone here too well but I didn't plan on letting things stay that way, even though I was still a little freaked out by that Killjoy calling me her sister, oh well.* You guys heard anything about those two captured Killjoys? *I take a sip of my drink feeling more awake with each minute.*

*I walk out of the hospital wing with my arm and minor cuts bandaged up and go to look for the rest of my unit*

*I make a face* Ah, that's too bad... so close, too. And I suppose most of the helicopters are still being repaired from the Viper attack - the ones that could be salvaged, anyway - so an airlift wasn't possible. Well, there's always next time. And what's this about leaving active duty? Of course not! Have you seen the company statistics in terms of raids and Zone missions? Perhaps not... come to think of it, the majority are confidential... hm. In any case, the percentage of successes are surprisingly low. Company policy is to emphasis the good results, obviously, but in actuality events like yesterday's aren't uncommon. Surely you don't think you single-handedly changed the outcome of the entire endeavor?
*When Amy approaches I smile over at her* Good morning! Or afternoon, by now, I suppose. I /have/ heard about the killjoys, as a matter of fact. Bit of a bad shake, in that they've scarpered with a doctor. You're safe, though, they're long gone.

I certainly changed the luck. *I'm shocked to hear that not all the other units do better than Unit Eight. We always were called the best unit, but I thought it was because we had the best leaders, not the best results. I wonder if we even do have the best results. It could very well be another unit.* How on Earth do you know conf- *I stop myself in the middle of my sentence when Grey approaches. If Vico and I are going to have this coonversation, it shouldn't be shared.*

*I recognize the question Angeline was about to ask, but just wink and look back at Amy. After all, I can't go giving away all my secrets.* You look good, at least, Amy. Not too much the worse for your attempted kidnapping.

They escaped? And under 24 hours aswell, these Killjoys are so determined but I ask myself why. *I smile as we keep walking. It's a shame about the escape, I had a few questions to ask them.* Why thank you Vico. It still freaks me out a bit though, do you think they'll ever come back? *We keep walking up and down, my guess is looking for the other memebers of our unit, I wonder what we'll be doing today. No matter what I end up spending the rest of the day doing, I'll stay content.*
