*the punches are weak and do little to nothing as i shrug them off with the hand that doesnt have my coffee in it, then the kick comes and i jump up over it to avoid it and stand again on the ground*
come on. Can you actually make a dent or scratch at anything besides your breakfast cereal?

*The insults work. I rush her, forgetting who exactly I am fighting. I just want to see her face when the coffee spills all over that nice white uniform*

*she rushes, Of course she does. She runs towards me blind to her weaknesses and without form or concentration, she gets close and ready to strike. But I quickly twirl around and round house kick her straight in the stomach, shooting her back onto the next mat*
FOCUS. Do you believe you'll survive like that? Will you ever win a fight like THAT? Who were you just attacking now? Me? Or my Coffee? Choose your actions carefully. And your words even more so. I attacked your tired mind, insulted you, and you fell straight into a trap.

*I slowly get up, trying to breath through the pain. I straighten and Aerith motions for me to attack. I try to incorporate her words as best I can and position myself into one of my favorite martial arts stances before attacking. I can feel Wilson's eyes on me as she keeps deflecting my attackes, even though I keep my movements as fluid as possible. Finally she flips me into a wall and I involuntarily cry out. Damn. I get up as fast as I can, but it't not fast enough. I can feel my energy fading...*

Be swift. In mind and Body *I attack her again, and again and again, every attack she throws at me i throw back to her. She falls and quickly gets back to her feet and tries again... panting more and more. She'll be exhausted soon*

*My arms are heavy and I know I can't last much longer. I step forward and attack, promising myself that if I just try one more time... one more time...*

(transffering back from page 3 of 'These Lights That Blind Us'.)
*Morand and I walk into the training facility and stand against the back wall. Apparently Aerith joined Wilson so now she and Red are dueling ferociously. I can see Red is faltering a bit and I clap loudly.* Lets go Red Havoc! I want to see Aerith with a bloody nose. Make my day. *I chuckle and look at Morand.* That woman is Aerith Lin, a excellent exterminator. She is quite eccentric but I would suggest doing your best to avoid fighting her. Especially in those heels.

Young. Extremely young, 15 I believe. The youngest agent we have on force but she is a better fighter than many twice her age. She is quick and agile though you seem to be seeing her at one of her weaker moments. She was recently seriously injured and had mental trauma which we had to fix. But she certainly is doing Better. *I watch as Aerith quickly dominates her.*
(Also just realized that this conflicts with the timeline but eh. Oh well. It's a discussion.)

*I glance at him and frown. He asks a lot of questions. Perhaps it is a good thing. I ponder it over for a moment and decide that I can tell him.* It did. She was partnered up with an agent who did not take to kindly to me. So he took her and escaped to the zones where he left her with a bunch of killjoys. They warped her thinking and when Aerith tried to pursue them she actually defended the killjoys and Aerith had no choice but to fight back. The killjoys escaped with her and did a shitty job of treating her. Eventually we were able to fix her but some mental damage still exists. We are working on that. *I pause and look back at him.* Choose your zone partner wisely Mr. Morand. That is the moral of this story. And do not let your emotions get in the way.

*I look back at him and wink.* Exactly. *We watch the fight for a moment more then I usher him to follow me. We walk over to where Wilson is standing.* We have an issue. And it should probably be dealt with immediately.

*I look over at Wilson, nodding at the new agent. Morand, I believe his name was* Yeah? Just a second. *I turn to Red and Aerith* That's enough! Red, go get yourself some water. You have two minutes.
*I make sure Red is obeying me before turning back to Orwell and Morand. Aerith comes over to join us* Can you update me here or do we need to head to the offices?

Here is fine. We should not be heard over the others training. While in the zones with my group I came into contact with a killjoy. He seemed very insistent on warning us of a possible threat. Have you ever heard of a group called 'The Vipers'? They seem to be planning an attack on both the killjoys and Battery City. I would not be so paranoid about this but I have a feeling that this is a much bigger threat than we perceive it to be. I went ahead and closed down the tolls to the city.

*I nod* I've heard of the Vipers. They function as more of a hierarchical society than the killjoys and I suspect they are better organized. I hunted down a few of them myself, once. The one I interrogated did not have the morality paradigm we see in the zone rats. They are also much more interested in profit and are a large part of the illegal underground supply trade.
Who was this killjoy? I've never heard of the vipers initiating a direct attack before.

Incendiary Aftermath. He was quite insistent and seemed to be telling the truth, or at least believed he was. *I glance back at Morand to see if he is listening. He seems very aware and observant so I may as well have him hearing things from us rather than the grapevine.*
