*i decide to do a bit of training before going back and looking through more security feeds. Some target practice always helps me to clear my mind. I nod a hello to some of my patrol and head straight to the shooting range with my laser rifle*

*I look at the note Wilson gave me. It has a list of exercises I'm supposed to do, a list too long for one day. I know he'll be watching through the feeds, so I begin with weights and running. I dread the fourth item on the list, which requires me to find a sparring partner... but I forget my worries as the adrenaline hits. I'm slower than I was before I went out into the zones and I hope Wilson takes that into account*

*As I wake up in the morning, I go straight to the room with the feeds in it and pick up watching where I left off. My eyes flick back and forth from one monitor to another, trying to find the offending footage....
But it isn't there. My entire conversation with Miss Main is cut down to an instant of her brushing past me as I stand there looking startled and uncertain. I was so sure that it had happened....I rewind again and again and still find nothing, until eventually I notice that the time in the bottom corner of the screen skips about thirty seconds each time I watch it. It's hard to notice, because the numbers are so small, but it's happening. I'm startled. I certainly had one amazing stroke of luck....*

*after looking down at the smoking targets, I glance at the clock and see that I'd better get to the room I was working in last night. I quickly stow my gun and rush out of the training center, popping a few pills in as I do so, and head to the room*

*I laugh* No need to be worried, Jonathan. I simply felt it would be remiss for me to not get to know two employees such as yourselves, especially since you've recently been promoted. Specifically, I'd like to speak about your methods of managing the more difficult cases - good work rehabilitating the captured killjoy, by the way. Tell me about the girl, Red Havoc. I understand she recently had to be retrieved from the Zones?
*I don't mention Max yet, knowing it'll be harder for me to stay neutral.*

*I raise an eyebrow. Another smooth talker and the way she says things make you want to confide in her. I warn myself to be careful around this one.* Red Havoc was already assigned to a senior draculoid upon my arrival. Within a week they both had emotional outbursts and fled to the zones. Red even attacked Miss Aerith here on one occasion. After learning she was with the killjoy group we went ahead and took her back in. We have been trying our best to make her Better and reintegrate her into our society, where she belongs. I am sure you are familiar with the Wolfblood program, yes? She has already over gone several treatments and with in a day or two we should have a full psych report on her.

*I smile slightly* Yes, I'm familiar with the program. She's rather young to have been sent into the Zones, though, isn't she? Personally, I don't find it all that surprising that she was emotionally vulnerable. After all, the effects of the emotion-stabilizing medications don't reach full potency until the patient is physiologically mature.

*I scowl.* We altered her regiment so it would be successful given her situation. Wilson himself trained her in combat and I can tell you from personal experience she is quite capable. I have no worries about her. The only reason I see she acted the way she did because she was not fully monitored and grew to close to her partner. I guarantee it will not happen again.

*I shrug and speak up for the first time* She's an experiment. Do you know how much information we've collected from Red alone? She's made it easier for generations of young recruits. And her young mind makes her easy to influence. Red's progress in training is faster than any other agent I've seen, because of her youth.

*laughs silently* I'd have to agree. the child's got some talent in her. And it increased during our scrap. I do believe we have yet to see the end of this experiment or its results.

*I don't approve of using a subject so young for such an experiment, but decide not to pursue it farther.* And her assignment - I assume you put serious thought into who she would be partnered with, considering her importance in your studies. What, then, led to the problems?

*I look directly at Belle* Faith. Faith was in my way, Miss Sacramento. She assigned Red to Max and the bets started up almost immediately concerning how long Red would stay alive as Max's partner. However, not only did Red survive, Max started taking care of her. I was intrigued.
The problem was really with Max. He was a loose cannon then, we should have seen that. He had problems with Orwell and left. Red followed, which was only natural. We have programmed her to be loyal to her superiors, and that included Max. Out in the zones her environment was not controlled anymore, she began to revert.

I see. Well, I am sorry that Faith... interfered. And as for Max - *I pause, carefully wording my thoughts* I have to admit, I'm not pleased with how he was treated when he was brought back to the Tower. I'm positive that a straightforward Wolfblood procedure would have sufficed.

*I shake my head.* No no, I apologize Ms. Sacramento but I do not believe you fully understand Max. He is a very complicated man, and very difficult to control. We can give him the Wolfblood treatments as much as you like but in the end, he will always revert back to his former self. He somehow remains un-manipulated by drugs and toxins. Even the images and sounds would not be enough to phase him. We had to go further and make an impression that would last. Emotions are almost subconscious. Even if his consciousness forgets the pain he endured there will always be a tug reminding him not to do it. We have achieved total control.
