Who I've got to be

*I carry on through zone 4, my head spinning from the events in the gas station. My foot is still bleeding out of the scorch marked boot. I take something for the pain but become more pale from the bloodloss. I pull over when dizzyness sets in and pull out a medi-kit from the glove compartment* Always prepared...

*I pull my legs out of the car, which is parked behind a hill of the main road and start taking off the boot. The wind is low so not much dust to contaminate the wound as I try to clean it. I take out a flask of clean water, take a drink and pour some of it over my foot. My hands shake as a bandage is slowly and carefully wrapped around the wound. I turn back around in the car after putting the boot back on without closing it, shut the door and carry on*

*I pull up to a gas station that I've been to only a handfull of times. A quiet reverance is broken by the throbbing of my foot as I step out of the car. I close the storage door behind me after swapping the car for a blue van with a yellow hood. I glance down the road in the direction of the 109 studio and proceed driving down the road. There is an eerie silence when i walk in. I grow more pale with every step* Why the hell did i agree to do this?!

*i fall to the floor. It is an organised mess, like the first time i walked in the door to the station. I sit for a few minutes and think of everyone i've lost before pulling myself together. I hear a noise behind me. I can identify the person instantaneously* you know this has to be done... *i turn around as show pony takes up a record and throws it into a box filled with records, possibley the last records in the building. He is a lot older since we last saw each other. Without ever saying a word he picks up the box* they're ok then? *again, no words are spoken. He simpley nods and leaves me to get on with my task*

*I start going through the loose scattered sheets of paper* How could anyone find anything in this mess?! *There are loose files on: BLI officials since 2014, the rise of better living, Killjoys, killjoys turned BLI, BLI turned killjoys, civillians throughout the zones that are sympathetic and ways to contact them, that only a kj could desypher, concoctions for pills, concoctions for food, music playlists, book lists of books that have been taken back from BLI. In another room shelves of books on oneside and empty shelves on the other, from where show pony took the records. It is very evident from the dust that it has only recently been disturbed. I start putting the books into boxes*

*I take a break after hours of working on packing up. I look outside and as the sun go down. I use the a bin and some wood to start a fire and sit outside, watching the sunset. My foot is still throbbing so I take some pills, left in a drawer by dr d. Static can be heard from the radio, then a male voice can barely be heard*

Bunny, you there?

*I sigh before responding* I'm here Skeets, whats going on over there?

*rb*I think we've just had the best week so far. 14 families moved back to the town since the Bowling Alley opened and people are coming from surrounding towns. Every week becomes our busiest week. We've added an open mic night for those brave enough to be creative. Going down well so far

*Rb* Any word from any of our..... friends?

*Rb*Uhh there are 5 visitors right now, 2 are planning to move on at daybreak and patrols are as usual

*Rb*Good. Keep me updated. *I put the radio down, light a flare and wrap a blanket around myself*

*I sit on the barrell and watch the fire slowly burn out. The night falls very suddenly, lost in thought i hadnt even noticed. I hop off the barrell and start loading the van with the boxes. i start singing 'summertime' to myself as I slowly make my way out with the first box*

*i finish loading the boxes in the van and step back inside the building. The emptiness of the room chills me to my core. I glance around the room one last time before closing over the door* At least they're safe... *i close the back doors of the van and limp into the drivers seat* stupid burbank and his stupid lucky shot. *i start the van up and leave the place i had once been so comfortable in, knowing i'll never come here again*

*i wake up after pulling over for the night. A group of 5 people have gathered around the van. They recognise it but they're civillians so they're no threat. I just wave and start driving again*

*I take the note out again and read it* Thanks Dr D, you tell me what to do and forget the destination. "...Clear out the radio station..... dont want it to get raided...." But how do I find you? Where the hell am I supposed to leave all this crap?!! What do I do now? *the short uneasy sleeps and the altercation with Burbank leaves me drained. I pull over the van again and lie down across the front seats. The tears stream from my eyes as I am bogged down with more questions than I have ever had swimming around my head*

*As always in the zones, there is never much time to dwell as I sit back up after a few minutes and see dust flying in the distance. I take out a small hand held telescope, roll down the window and sit on the door. The van hidden by boulders, a small break in the rockery allows me to see into the desert* Oh They really dont wanna come this way.... *The uninvited guests continue to speed my way as I hop out of the van and take a shotgun from the floor of the van* Lets see how you pigs like this! *They move ever closer as I line up my first shot and smile slightly. I mumble to myself* .... a little bit more, come on, just a little bit more

*The shot, almost deafening, rings out through the valley and the desert as the minituresque person on the bike is thrown forward with the bike following. The other three break theirs and look around. I duck down behind the rocks, while peeking out of the gap. The echo from the valley makes it impossible for them to know which direction it came from. They are stillin danger, out in the open.* Nowhere to hide.... Stupid dracs! *I pick the shotgun back up and reload. I line up another shot as one sees to the dead body and the other two are still looking around, looking for the shooter. I pull the trigger again and see another one fall. They panick as the blast once again echos out. One of the remaining two points in my direction and shots from long distance rayguns immediately follow*

*I take out another without any difficulty. The final one comes out from behind the vehicles, shhoting. I take cover and run over to the van, protected by the rocks. I take out a small rocket, fireworks from christmas. I smile before shooting with my ray gun. When he takes cover I jump up onto a large rock, aim the rocket then light it. I duck down once again as the rocket hits its target, exploding the bikes and remaining drac in a haze of colour. I sit on the rock and watch the remaining small explosions*

*I sit on the rocks, looking at the carnage* And I'm bored now.... Maybe I should go find some other kjs hmmmm *I jump back into the van and once more, I drive off, windows down, stereo on full blast playing Destroya*

*Its late when I get to Lucky Strikes. I havent been here in over 2 months but feels more like 2 years. The lights are still on as I park up* hmmm Has to be closed by now.... *I jump out of the van and walk in the back way, through the back of the lanes* So... what'd I miss?

Hey! *skeets picks me up and gives me a bear hug. I gasp for air* For a twig, you have some strength hahaha Cant stay, just have to pick up some equipment and then I'm back out... *The look on everyone's faces, catches me by surprise* Hey, I wont be long this time, I promise hahaha Just gotta get some things to the safehouse where I can.... well, hide them. *I go behind the bar and push open the trap door to release the stairs to the store room. I take out a torch and proceed down the stairs. At the back of the stock room there is a small bombshelter. I open the door and sit on the bunk inside. I change the dressing on my foot and grab a few medical supplies. I go back up and get some food, water and alcohol. I notice the stares* Strictly for medical reasons *I sneak in 2 bottles of Jack danials and a bottle of vodka before they see and put the food on top, walk back out and continue my journey*

*Speeding through the zones but not really rushing anywhere, I tear through zone 4 with the stereo, once again on full blast. The Radio crackles* What th-? *I turn the stereo down to hear a very familiar voice* NO WAY *I pick up the radio and reply* BUNNY KILLIGHTLY READY FOR DUTY AS ALWAYS! It is GOOD! to hear your voice. I'm in zone 4, heading in the general direction of battery city so I'll see yas soon
