**The wind whispers and flows through the curtains like a child playing hide and seek. A Distant echo of laughter- a woman's voice. It makes its way on to the stage and bounces off the walls faint and distant like a wisp.
Hey
A man caught between sleep and consciousness underneath a worn out blanket twitches as the echo reaches his ear. He pulls the blanket over his head and groans.
Silly boy hahaha
The voice echoes again. From the corners of the room the words bounces a familiar phrase a familiar ... voice. Light from the morning sun makes its way from the ceiling to the stage, a shinning spotlight on the hooded man in the blanket.
Don't dilly dally, there's work to be done
The voice shifted- from a familiar voice to a memory. The likes of which have been lost for quite some time.
She's right, youve gotta go.
You two are agreeing? Oh no. Better hurry bud.
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
Wake up!
The man shoots up, and looks around for the voices. Nobody, as always... just the empty run down theater and empty seats. A slight sniffling and rustling come from underneath the blanket. A body moves from underneath and comes out into the light revealing itself- a fox. Red and brown from the dirt and mud of the desert landscape, it carries a collar with a dangling tag with the name Nali roughly etched in as if done by a knife or screwdriver maybe. The fox yawns and stretches, then approaches the man, placing its paws on his black jeans.
He looks at the fox and pats its head and stares into the hole in the ceiling, the light of the sun reflecting off his goggles**
*still staring off into the sky* There were three voices this time. It's been months and i still can't figure out who they are... or who I am for that matter... all ive got to go is - well, you.
*I look back at Nali and her eyes gleam with affection and eagerness*
Looks like you're ready to go, bud.
*I put on my leather jacket and put my arm out. Nali climbs up the dark green sleeve and makes herself comfortable in the green hood*
Lets go. There's work to be done.
