the city wasnt any place for a lady especially not one of my kind,a killjoy,stripped to nothing naked and bare i had left my self wide open and now somehow i ended up in this shit hole, scraping the pieces together of what was left of me. I got into the city months ago kidnapped by crows. the things id done the people ive seen ghosted right before my very eyes it was all too much i had to stay i was afraid of death, i had been a coward despite how i was on the outside. After the fire fight on the east side so many of my kind ghosted without mercy and some had ghosted each other lead by the tasty sweet sticky blue friend we fought over, it was easier to inject it then swallow considering the shortage of water and you cant take it dry it shrivels up your insides. Its just two seconds of pain and then ecstasy how we longed for the drug but that shit kills and i learned the hard way.the only pain i felt was from the sun, out by the only mailbox in the zones sitting in the chair out on the desert the shade from the tree doing little. alone dying and burning alive when they found me. That same day i was dragged in given a choice i didnt want death i was afraid of dying so when i got to the city with my blaster on its lasts breath of battery, i ran and now...well now im out but im not free...

Tomorrow's Dreams was running. She had no other choice, not when there were five or six BLI cars on her tail, each one stuffed full of Dracs. Her breaths came in short, sharp bursts. She had been running for what seemed like forever, but could only realistically have been a few hours. The stitch in her side flared up, shooting pain right the way through her, and she fell onto her hands and knees. But the cars didn't stop, so Tomorrow could not stop. If she were to stop, she would die. And so she crawled as fast as she could along the boiling hot sand, burning her hands and her knees as she went.
Her gun was still in its holster, which hung limply at her side, but she didn't have the strength to support its weight, so she left it there because she couldn't bear to lose it.
The guitar she carried on her back was growing heavier by the second, seeming to crush her into the sand, and she couldn't take anymore of it. Letting her arms slip out from under her, she crashed to the ground.

At night its easier to hide the shadows become the warmest embrace you'll encounter and as the afternoon began to fade i walked past the Bli building just as some scum bag dracs hauled in the new meat through the gate i would have kept walking had the person not been so stupid as to try and fight them, she looked pretty much dead But then they tried to take her guitar and thats when the dead look in her eyes dissapeared faster than lightning and she headbutted the drac behind her and in one swift movement she took out her gun and grabbed her guitar as if it were a child before being kneed in the stomach and she cried out pleaded to not be taken she was like me...she didnt want to die thats when things changed. I ran across the lot when i got there i realized...it was me and some stranger against a whole squad and i had all but one blaster and a sword how i had missed the good life

Tomorrow glanced when she felt someone's eyes on her and she saw another girl, around her age, aiming a gun at the Dracs while wielding a sword in her other hand. She grinned and swung her foot at the head of a fallen Drac. It connected, and the Drac grunted in pain.
Tomorrow's bag lay a short distance from her across the sand and she made a grab for it, hugging it carefully against her chest while running towards the other Joy who was waiting for her. "Hey," she greeted. "Name's Tomorrow, who the hell are you?" Her words, though seemingly rude, had a light hearted tone to them.

I had never felt more alive, i felt a euphoria so great, greater than any other thrill that that stupid pill could provide, As the two whole squads of dracs lay at my feet my eyes lit up like fire i could feel it, the world getting brighter the grimy city just behind us the desert my home right there in front, i felt alive again.I turned to the side as the girl as she introduced herself, tomorrow huh? nice name. I put my sword in the holster on my back and picked up a battery pack from the drac i had just kicked. I went around picking the pockets of the others as i talked. "names PlasmaCreature but you can just call me plasma, where did you come from kid? usually the joys that come through here are already ghosted, i was watching it was like you were playin dead Ha!...Got it!" I yipped as i finally found the keys to one of the cars in the pocket of...well this one was a scarecrow i took its mask, i stood up and offered her my hand

Tomorrow raised her eyebrows as she watched Plasma. "You're stealing from the dead?" she asked, shaking her head slightly in disbelief. Putting the bag she still held carefully down at her feet, she took Plasma's hand in her own scarred one. "What are you going to do with all that stuff?" she added, looking at the collection of seemingly useless gadgets Plasma held. All Tomorrow had in the world was her bag, her guitar, and the little ragdoll her mother had made her on the day she was born.
"So," she continued. "Where did you spring from?" One minute she had been alone, just her and the Dracs, and then the next thing she knew, she was standing before someone else. Not just a desert rat, either, but what seemed to be a true KillJoy.

I shook her hand "nice to meet you", As I walked to the city line to get the rest of my stuff in the alley by the gate i motioned for her to follow "you mean those assholes? they arent gonna need their stuff, why waste?" I said as i grabbed my bag and stuffed all the loot in it i slung my bags over my shoulder and headed back towards the lot, we were gonna need a ride before the city was alerted and more dracs came. i grabbed the keys and pressed on the button the lights on the crows car lit up it beeped to signal which one i grinned maliciously we were gonna get outa here in style "come on kid lets get outa here before we end up like your little friends over there and by the looks of it your gonna need more than a kiss on that boo boo" i ran and opened up the trunk and put my stuff inside "hurry we gotta go" as tomorrow put her stuff inside and closed the trunk i ran to the front and unlocked the car i started her up popped the hood looking inside

Tomorrow climbed into the back of the car and opened her bag. "Thanks for helping us," she said in a quiet voice. A pair of sleepy green eyes peered up at Plasma and Tomorrow, then closed again slowly. "She's ok," Tomorrow murmured to herself gently, taking out a little girl and strapping her in beside her. Then she leaned her head back against the seat. She hurt so much after that fight, and she didn't think she could last much longer without medical help.

I raised an eyebrow at tomorrow but just went back to looking at the car "hey can you start her up again, just rev the engine" tomorrow jumped in the front and stepped on the pedal when she did a red dot began blinking next to a pipe, "found you" I ripped the tracker off not breaking it just tossing it into a bush. I pulled the cable closing the hood and opened the driver side door "move over babes we gotta bounce" i got in started it up and put on my seat belt i then pulled my mask out of my back pocket slid it on and put the scarecrow mask over it, i looked at tomorrow "you should do the same, dont want no terrible beasties recognizing us cus when they hit the scene our faces are gonna be all over the city"

Tomorrow nodded and pulled her own mask over her face. She glanced at the little girl in the back seat. "She doesn't have a mask," she explained to Plasma. "I tried to make her wear one, but she hated it." She pulled a Scarecrow mask over her Joy mask and nodded. "Ok, I'm ready."
The mask was actually her own, left over from when she had been training to work for the city. Tomorrow hated it, but she kept it for situations such as this, because well, needs must.
Holly crouched on the floor, making sure she was hidden from the view of the windows. She, too, understand the dangers of the city and while she refused to wear a mask, she still did not want to be caught and taken back there.

'I looked back and saw the little one crouched down on the floor of the car and raised an eyebrow at her "you dont need to do that tiny, with these masks they just gonna think we caught a wanderer so sit and buckle in its gonna be a bumpy ride, i gotta pick something up before we get outa here" I turned the key's revved the engine and stomped on the breaks driving through the gate into the grimy city before us

Holly glanced up, startled that the older girl had noticed her, but she nodded and without a word, she scrambled up onto the backseat of the car and strapped herself in. The belt clicked after she had tried four or five times and she smiled proudly up at Plasma.

"haha your a real cutie, now hold on" i laughed lightheartedly and drove through the city speeding past the lights and buildings making my way through the slums rushing to the end to pick up something, this was it a clean escape i wasnt going to leave anyone behind this time. Electricity ends when you cross the boarders of the city into desert but somehow these cars still run on batteries. We drove through the city i stopped in front of a grimy looking but still ok hotel across the street was a Chinese food place and the music/book/bar store Arcadia where me and my band preformed thats how i got by but gigs were becoming scarce these days and we needed out. someone from the outside who knew her way in and out by secret passage ways that she never revealed told me of gigs going on for days out in the desert it had been so long since i had been out she talked of a revolution things were changing i still remember the look in here eyes as she said things were becoming obsolete money didnt matter. I knew she was crazy but still the way she said it, things were changing that look it was so raw and real and i wanted to taste what she talked of. I parked and turned to Tomorrow "stay here lock the doors immediately once i get out and get in the drivers seat im taking the crow mask off" I took it off and placed it on the dash "once you see me and the others come back you and dont i repeat dont get out just roll down the window aim your blaster at us and tell us to get in the car that way if the heat comes by we'll be chillin you probably wont need to but just in case. i wont be too long" i hopped out and ran into the hotel checked in and ran up stairs to room 43 not even bothering to knock as i came in everyone shouted "Hey! Plasma!" I smiled we were gonna get out of here, no one was gonna be left behind not this time.
