When my father taught me how to play chess as a young child, my favorite piece was the knight, mostly because I shared a name with it. I became incredibly adept at using knights, if I do say so myself, even winning a game or two without moving any other pieces.
In this age, I designate my chess pieces with names and move them to and fro on the board in my Tower office, examining and admiring their strategies. Some move back and forth in the same pattern every time, content with their place. Some go straight for the ranks of the enemy, thinning the massive number of black pawns. Some even change their colors in the middle of the game. There are even those who are cut down by the ebony ones, teardrops of ivory in a sea of black. However, for every one Better player we use, we take down countless black Killjoy pieces. We have even gone so far as to destroy their "queen", the symbolic four who were gunned down some time last year. The enemy is weakening. So long as I have reason to, I will do all I can to continue this winning streak.
