So I went to see MCR at the Honda Civic Tour at PNC Banks Art Center last night, so I thought I'd share the experience with everyone.
I got there at about 5, but they didn't let us in until around 6. First thing I did was hit up the merch booth for a tour shirt (blink and MCR each had their own style of t-shirt) and an additional MCR shirt. Then it was off to the lawn, where I would spend the rest of the concert. I was literally at the railing of the lawn so I could see the stage perfectly. I kept an eye out for the Drab 4 (Vol, Blackie, Music and Trap) but I don't know if I saw them or not. XD Anyway, at about 7:30, Manchester Orchestra came out to open. They were pretty good. I highly recommend checking them out. When they asked about who was fans of who, the Killjoys and MCRmy were definitely louder than the blink fans. And rightfully so. Jersey=Killjoy Central. So MO played for about 30 minutes, then they started getting the stage ready for MCR. I could even tell they were because they brought out their drum set with EXTERMINATE written on it. They came out, fucking rocked the house!!! Blew the roof off of PNC!!!! They played the songs we remember, and songs from Danger Days. Gerard was all over the place, on the ground, really good energy. Ray, Frank, and Mikey all had the same energy, minus rolling on the stage. XD But of course, the show must end. I was able to go home happy though. Next up, of course, was blink-182. I wasn't really watching because I went for MCR, but blink was good anyway. They played their old songs, to which the fans responded really well to, and new songs. Mark and Tom were hilarious, I have to say. They put on a great show. So when they were done, or seemed like they were, around 10:30, me and my sister made our way through the giant crowd on the lawn, back to the merch booth for another poster for our other sister, one of the tank tops Mikey wore (she wanted one), and I bought two more shirts, one with a drawing of Killjoys, and one #SingItForJapan shirt. Then we got on the bus to go back to Matawan station to get picked up.
To sum up, the concert was amazing. PNC was nearly sold out. Everyone there had a good time. I'll post a few pictures, and maybe the video I took, when I get them off my camera. Stay shiny guys.
