*I run to my house, barely able to contain my joy as I burst through the door*
*jumps at the sound of the door* Rachel, would it kill you to be a little more humble at home?
Sorry Ryan, but I can't help it! I've got all the forms I need for training and my I.D. will be ready by tomorrow!
that's great Rachel, BLI will be lucky to have you *gets up and walks to the kitchen* dinner will be ready in a bit
Ok Ryan. *runs up to my room and sits down at my desk to fill out the forms* ok, basic information, easy enough... Training application... *stops at the last form and looks at the two picture frames on my desk. One of me and Ryan, the other of me and Static, if not for the different clothes, one would think I was with the same person instead of two twin brothers* I miss you Static, I know you wanted me to be a killjoy like you, but I know you'd still be proud of me for this choice. *fills out the last form*

*I sit at my desk for a while just looking at the pictures. Ryan and Static looked alike in every single way, but I always thought that I didn't look related to them at all. I was on the shorter side, had pale skin, jet black hair and green eyes. They were both tall, had curly brown hair, tan skin, bright blue eyes. The only difference between them was that one was a killjoy, and one works with BL/ind, and because of this I never saw them at the same time, and it's also why I have two pictures. After a while I head back downstairs*
*looks up as she walks in* you finished the forms?
Yep, they're all done, and by this time tomorrow, I'll have my ID, and I'll be training.
*smiles* that's great, I'm really proud of you. *takes out a pill bottle and swallows a pill* I just got called in to check some last minute things in the tower, but I'll be back soon, ok? I love you Rachel

*watches him leave and almost like clockwork I go into the back room where I normally waited for Static before I realize what I'm doing and I start crying a little* oh Static, why aren't you here? Where are you big brother? *sits down and tries to calm down. I had always looked up to Static, I had actually wanted to be with him more than I did with Ryan. Of course I would never say that, but I just felt more like me when I'm with Static. He was also the only one that called me Raven, I had tried to get Ryan to do the same but he never really approved of me having a second name like te terrorists do. I remember all the fun times I had with Static when I then think of something* if I get a position in one of the patrols, maybe I can find answers. *walks upstairs and lays down in my bed* tomorrow, I'll get my ID and start training. Tomorrow... *I close my eyes and fall asleep*

*I wake up and happily realize what I get to do today. I quickly ready myself and run down stairs* I'll be back later Ryan, wish me luck with training! *I dart out the door*

*I burst through the door unable to contain myself* Ryan I did it! I passed evaluation!
Rachel that's incredible! *picks her up in a big hug* I'm so proud of you! *sets her down* have they assigned you a patrol yet?
not yet, but they told me that something big is going to happen and they're calling in all the recruits.
*smiles* I guess my little sister is all grown up now. But Rachel, just remember that this is a dangerous job, you need to be careful out in the wastelands. Promise me you'll be careful.
I promise big brother. *starts walking upstairs* I'm going to clean myself up and get some rest. I love you Ryan.

*I wake up the next day and walk downstairs to see Ryan in a complete disarray* Ryan whats wrong? *I have never seen him this nervous*
*jumps at the sound of her voice* it's miss Sacramento, Rachel. She was murdered by a group of killjoys
*I pale and my thoughts turn to rage. How could they kill her?! She did nothing wrong, just wanted to help make people's lives better and the killjoys killed her! She helped me and I never got to give her my thanks for it* did they catch the killjoys? I hope they did
I was told something about two of them being found and taken to the tower but that's it

*I grab my coat and walk to the door*

*i run to the tower and into the lobby where the secretary greeets me*
Hello, may i help you?
I want to see the two killjoys that were brought here. I want to talk to them. here's my ID.
Im afraid that they are with Mr. Korse at the moment, and are to not be disturbed at the moment
I dont care, i need to talk to them right now. I'll talk to Mr. Korse. *i walk past the secretary and into the elevator. i pass by a drac and an agent but i dont pay them any attention*

*I search the floor and find Korse talking to someone, and I wait until he finishes speaking before approaching him*
*sees the young girl in front of me* do you need something?
I wish to speak to the two killjoys that were brought in, sir. I want to ask them a few questions about my brother.
your brother works in the medical ward, does he not? Why would you need to ask about him?
no, not Ryan sir. My other brother who was one of the killjoys, he was reported missing, and I wanted to try to find some answers.
*looks at her confused* I don't recall ever seeing a record for your second brother, and I have records on nearly every killjoy in the zones

What do you mean there's nothing on him?
I only have files on you and your brother Ryan. There is no record of you having a second brother
that's not possible! I grew up with two twin brothers, Ryan and Static. They're my only family, there has to be something!
I'm sorry Miss Mahoney, but there is not, which is extremely unusual. And as for questioning the killjoys, they had just recently accepted new lives here at BLI and are currently busy. As am I, so I bid you a better day
have a better day, sir. *I walk away and pass by miss sacramento's office. It was already cleaned out, so I continue on back home*

*I walk inside and sit heavily on our couch*
*walks over and sits next to her* you alright Rachel?
how can they not have any information on him? It doesn't make sense...

Static. There wasn't a single file on him at the tower, even Korse didn't know
*stiffens at the name but hides it from her* well, maybe you can try again tomorrow. *looks at my watch* I have to go. *kisses the top of her head* I love you Rachel
love you to. *I sit on the couch for a long time thinking. I go up to my room and look at my pictures. One other difference between my brothers that only we know is that after Static became a killjoy he had one of his friends cut his symbol on his shoulder, leaving a scar of the symbol. I go to Ryan's computer and check to see if i have been assigned a patrol yet. I have and a meeting has been scheduled for it today* i guess things are starting to look up for me. *i run back to the tower*

*i walk inside and see Ryan waiting for me on the couch*
so? how was your first day?
*sits next to him and rests my head against his shoulder* It went well, until a bunch of killjoys blew a whole in the wall and grafittied the building. it was a failure on our part, and i didnt really do anything
Rachel,its your first day, its not the end of the world. you'll have your moment and the company will see how lucky they are to have you

*I walk back home and I see Ryan working at the table* I'm back
*jumps at her voice and almost sends the files I'm looking through everywhere* Don't scare me like that Raven! I take back what I said about you needing to be more humble, make a little noise or something so you won't startle me every time you come home. Why are you looking at me like that?
Im not, it's just been quite a day. *Ryan has never called me Raven before, said that he didn't approve of his little sister acting how a killjoy would*
oh really? What happened?
well we went after a rogue agent, Silent Max, and we did manage to find him.
did you catch him?
unfortunately no, he got away after I um *takes a deep breath and mumbles* shot my superior *I brace myself for what's going to happen*
well I have heard that Max is- *snaps up and looks at her* you did what!?
max had been holding a gun to his head and he wanted me to shoot even if it meant hitting him. I was trying to aim for Max but it grazed my patrol leader's shoulder before hitting him. *Ryan has a look of complete shock and horror on his face and I know he's ready to flip out on me, but then I notice something. Part of his lip is turned into his mouth, as if he's biting it. One thing that all three of us had shared was that we all bite our lips to keep from laughing at something or deep in thought about something*
well Rachel, I don't know what to say to that, obviously it was an accident but still, why would you even risk shooting him? If you had seriously injured or even killed him, the Exterminators would have been all over you faster than you could say "have a better day"
I know,I know Ryan and thank god that didn't happen. But as of right now, I haven't been punished for it by my patrol leader so I'm hoping it will stay that way. Now on a different note, if you don't mind, you said you had found some information on Static?

yes, I did find something, albeit not much, but something. *I love my sister, but I wish she hadn't spent so much time worrying about Static. She is with BL/ind, and shouldn't be worrying about him*
*he sounds almost like he doesn't want to tell me, but I ignore it and focus on what he's saying*
apparently, there have been a few sightings of him in the past couple days out in the Zones. No specific location, but near the city. He better not try to enter the city
*I look at Ryan, I know he and Static never got along, but we haven't seen him for several months, he has to have at least gotten past that a bit*
*starts to gather up the files* I have to go, I'll be back later. I love you Raven
*again with calling me Raven. This is not like Ryan at all. I watch him walk out the door and I go sit in my room for a bit and take a quick nap. I'm suddenly woken up by someone moving around downstairs. I look at the clock, it can't be Ryan, it's too early. I grab my gun and walk downstairs. By the time I get downstairs whoever was here is gone. I hear what sounds like a loud thud at the back door and I go over to investigate. A note is stuck into the door with a knife and I take them down. The note reads as follows*
Raven, I hope you find this note before Ryan does. I'm sorry for going AWOL on you but I promise I'll explain everything soon. I love you and stay shiny
*at the bottom of the note is a symbol that looks like a fancy double 's'. I'd know that symbol anywhere, it's Static's. I walk back inside and put the note in my room. I debate whether or not I should tell Ryan, and in the end I decide not to. I realize that I never properly met my new partner so I quickly put my coat on and walk back to the tower*

*after checking out of the tower I head hone and find Ryan already waiting for me*
*I smile when she walks in, I hadn't seen her since the other day when her patrol went up to Oregon on an assignment* hey kiddo, how'd it go?
It went pretty well, if I do say so myself. Guess how many killjoys we brought in?
I dunno, two? Three?
*I grin at him* nope, five!
*I almost drop the stack of papers i was going through* five?! Are you serious?
*I grin even wider* dead serious! And we also got Max and Red!
that is amazing! *I grab her in a big hug* Could I have asked for a Better sister?
*I don't answer and hug him back. He's only wearing his ordinary day cloths, and as I hug him, I touch what feels like a scar on his shoulder. how had I not noticed it before? I remember Static had his scar on the other shoulder, but I never knew that Ryan had any scars. I should ask him, but that should be saved for another day*
