*Sarah comes back at me with her gloves. Daggers still in their hilts on her belt. My swords tip is covered in its metal cover to avoid cutting deep into anyone, and as such don't feel bad using it. Sarah comes back to attack once again. She jumps into the air and double kicks at me but misses both as I dash backwards. She continues on with punches, one at a time. Only one is necessary for a good shock. I evade each punch and return them with a kick in her stomach, sending her back. Allowing me to advance and strike down onto her, she dodges and roundhouse kicks in my direction but I swiftly take cover behind the large blade and then anchor it into the ground so i can use it as a lift to come around with a counter attack.*
*The girl electric has some gloves like mine. Although hers look a bit bulkier. Not terribly but her hands are also bigger than mine. In this train of thought I lose track of Noah's movement's. A sharp pain in my stomach rises and I'm lifting myself up off the ground quickly. I attack his as best as I can and manage to get a few kicks in. He's careful to avoid the punches. After another counterattack, he misses and I decide to get distance from him. The shock gloves are at full battery and I decide to use my daggers, thief style to inflict electric damage and then a swift cut. The daggers have a metal core that reaches up to the hilt and handle, allowing a bit of the electric current into the blade. I distance myself more from Noah and find myself closer to Arson. This is a free for all, after all... haha.
Arson is distracted and i take the opportunity to do a quick flip over her bent over body, grabbing her back, and using the moment from the flip to throw arson a few feet, she falls and so do I, slipping up on the footing on the landing.*

*No sooner does Electric distract Fail, than I find myself on the ground, Sarah a few feet away. I'd engage her right then and there, but at the last second I remember her electric gloves and roll to my feet instead. The sun's fully up now and it's getting quite hot, especially with all the physical exertion; I quickly shrug out of my jacket. I consider wrapping it around my left hand and lower arm and using the thick canvas material as a bit of insulation against Sarah and Electric's shocks, but vanity wins out and I toss it aside instead. I like the jacket too much to risk getting it slashed up.*
*Switching my knife back to my right hand, I look between Sarah and Electric, both back on their feet. I'm breathing a bit hard, and swipe my hair out of my eyes with a smile* You know, I still don't really know how to use this thing. *I wiggle the knife a bit* Not that this isn't fun, but would you mind giving me pointers while we spar?

*I Smile and dash off towards arson as fast as I can carry myself. As soon as i'm two feet away I jump up and slash down with both daggers. Arson blocks with her own dagger but staggers back and her grip on the hilt is weakened. I take advantage and kick her hand, sending the knife flying a few feet away and Immediately jump backwards*
Hold your blade firm but not overly so. Keep your hand as close to the hilt or beginning of the blade as possible. It makes the center of mass in your palm. Makes it easier to hold and easier to block without losing grip or time for a counter attack. Only hold near the edges if you're planning on throwing it.

Right. Close to the blade, not too tight. *I ignore the pain in my hand and retrieve the knife, careful not to turn my back on anyone. As soon as I adjust my grip as per Sarah's instructions, I take up my stance and move forward* Slashing sideways or vertically? Or stabbing forward?
*I try all three - with no success, not that I expected it - and pay attention to when I'm most vulnerable to Sarah's counters. The forward motion, for instance, leaves me significantly slower when it comes to reversing the momentum and pulling back. It's much easier to just keep going in the same direction as before, slashing through and out of range in one go.*

*Arson comes at me with different styles of attacks. The basics. Slashes, hack and stab. None of which make their mark and are a bit sloppy.*
Keep your body in. Imagine that the blade is really only an extension of your arm. Light on your toes and hands until ready to strike, then do so quickly and get out quickly. Like a jab from a boxer.
*I turn off my gloves and rush Arson, coming in close, ducking down and two quick jabs from the hilts and then swerving around her body and away, making sure to keep my back away from any of the other fighters*

*I feel Fail's attack on my hand, sending my katana to the dusty pavement. I shake my hand, trying to get rid of the pain in my hand. I know if I pick up my katana now, that's just going to leave me open to one for Fail's unique fighting style. Plus at this point I can focus more with my one blade, now charged with electricity from my glove. Sarah and Arson are just a ways off, Sarah giving some pretty good advice to Arson. There's not much more to add. Fighting with swords takes quite a bit of practiced skill to master.*
*I return my focus on Fail, my blade raised and ready for the attack. She's looking concerned at this point, but if it's a distraction tactic, I'm not buying it. Even though this is just supposed to be fun, I can't help but get competitive. Especially when it's every man, or woman, for themselves.*

*I avoid Sarah's jabs fairly well, though I can't land any of my own before she's out of range. Stay light. Like a fist fight, but with an exceptionally sharp fist. Not that I'm a shining star when it comes to fist fights; my strategies usually center around defense, escape, or stunning with my raygun. I focus on what it feels like when I call my marksmanship into play, and try to transfer that into the way I'm handling the blade. Less thinking, more acting.*
*As I engage with Sarah again, I barely notice that I'm loosening up. My blade meets hers again and again as we nearly dance back and forth, constantly shifting positions, and though I still don't make contact, neither does she. Every now and then she points out something about my footing, or the way I'm directing the knife; I get the feeling she's not quite going all out, but I'm still happy about being able to hold my own as well as I am. After several minutes I finally break away, half-skipping backwards so I'm at the very edge of the shade beneath the hangar's roof. I crouch down where I am to catch my breath, setting the knife on the ground next to me and holding up a hand towards Sarah* I think I'm out for now. Thanks for the help, Sarah, and remind me not to get on your bad side when you have those gloves charged up.

*I wake well after sunrise, and leave the twins sleeping in the plane. Outside I hear the sounds of fighting and reach for my gun, but as soon as I pinpoint which hangar the noise is coming from, I relax; the combat is just practice, not an attack. Crossing the tarmac, I stand off to one side in the shade and watch. I could join in, I suppose, but it looks like they've already been going for a while. And besides, I got my practice in yesterday.*
*I've never seen Arson use a knife before, for anything other than last-minute defense, and I'm a bit curious as I watch her spar with Sarah. It sounds like the younger girl is giving her tips, and I can see Arson's movements improve accordingly. Electric, Fail, and Poison are there too, but they're all so focused on guarding against each other, no one notices me. Eventually Arson backs up, and I walk over and sit down next to her* You looked good, there. Oh, and your moves were decent too.

*My hand twitches towards the knife automatically, but when I realize it's just Gear, I set it back down and sit cross legged on the pavement. At his words I narrow my eyes* Shut up, you. *I punch him in the arm and try to look threatening, but he just laughs* You're being a distraction. Be good. *I pointedly look back at the remaining fighters. Watching them from the sidelines is quite different than watching as a participant.*

*Electric has dropped one of the katanas, good news for me. She doesn't bend to pick it up though, and rises her second blade. Without hesitation, I grab the other extremity of my weapon with the hard leather clad hand and shove it horizontally against Electric's katana. The two blades hit and to my surprise, a shot of pain runs through my arms. I yell and sway back, stopping contact, stunned. I hit the dust, and through my blurred vision, I see Electric rise her blade again. Without thinking I shoot my ranger in her ankles, my arms paralyzed, my mind foggy*

*I'm running to surprise attack 'Lec and ready to fight, but then a better opening comes along as Fail falls down. I take the opportunity and swing the blade downwards onto the both of them, but 'Lec falls, her ankle shot. My blade is still falling and too heavy to stop completely so I push forward a bit and dig the blade into the ground behind Fail.* OUch. Ankles. You okay 'Lec?

I think so. *I try to get up, only to find my ankle hurts like fuck as I put weight on it. I fall back to the ground, gritting my teeth in anger. I sense people trying to rush to my aid, but I put my hand up to stop them.* I don't think it's broken, but it sure hurts like hell. I just need a moment. *I take a few deep, calming breaths, hoping that I'll be able to get up and just walk it off.*

No problem. Keep the weight off for a bit. We've been at it for a while. Lets take a break for now. Better get back up soon though. We still haven't gotten to make some sparks yet.

*I frown at Poison's words, but don't get up. I'm definitely glad I decided not to get involved.* Are you sure you guys want to keep going? Seems like tempers are getting a bit high. We don't want to actually hurt each other, especially when our medic's out of commission. Maybe later this evening would be better, when it's cooler and Electric's had a chance to rest her ankle.

*The airport's main building is fairly small; with only one runway, there aren't that many gates needed. There's also only one store inside, the food long since raided. The only things still here are a collection of useless tourist souvenirs. Red still has the soccer ball with her, and when we step back outside she starts kicking it along again. Following the sound of fighting, we end up back near the entrance to the safehouse. I don't know how carefully Red was watching, but I'd been keeping an eye out for any sign of the gang while we walked and saw none.*
*When the killjoys come into view I see they've been training with one another, though it looks like some of the sloppiest training I've ever seen. One of them actually appears to be injured; while that's acceptable when you're in the city and your partner is a trainee who won't be on active duty any time soon, it's remarkably foolish to act without restraint when there's not a fleet of medical staff one wing over and any or all of you could have to fight for your lives at any moment. I lean against a stretch of chain link fence, not bothering to hide my scorn. BLI was right when they said emotions don't belong in the workplace, and if this isn't the workplace, I don't know what is.*
