Gear. This is too difficult. We've got hardly enough hands here. We can't very well move Jump and we still need supplies. Electric is in no condition to go anywhere.
*I start talking to myself, pacing around trying to get a firm grasp on the situation* This is a difficult... I need to get supplies for the twins, and we need to get arson back as soon as possible. But how many people does that leave here for defense? Lec is out. The twins are out. Even if PB can fight we still need the two of them safe. The newbie.. what can they do? I don't know their limitations yet... If we leave max and red to guard, then there aren't enough for the rescue. If they go along, then we don't have enough for security...
*I return my attention to Gear* We're at a bit of a disadvantage here, Gear.

*I take out my notebook and pen, flipping to a blank page, the write:* Will you help track Arson?
*I hand it to him, nervous about what I'd do if he says 'no'*

*I read the question, then look back at Red. I have zero motivation to rescue a killjoy. But Red seems invested... and I wouldn't put it past her to go with the others and try to find her even if I said no. I'd much rather keep Red in sight, and if that means helping the killjoys, I suppose I'll have to do it. I pause a moment longer, then reluctantly nod once* All right. But I don't plan on making this a habit. Show me where you saw the tracks.

*I look back at Poison, trying not to let myself get angry. I know he's trying to help and I know he's right about the numbers, but every cell in my body is screaming to /go/ - go now, on foot and by myself if need be - because I don't want Arson alone with those bastards for another minute, and I don't want to hear the reasons why we might not be able to get to her*
PB and Static can stand watch here. If everyone stays inside, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm taking the van to get Arson, and I'll take whoever wants to come with me. I don't care how many or how few that is, but I'm leaving. Now.

*I smile, relieved that Max is coming, and run to where I spotted the tire tracks. I don't even notice if the sun is hot anymore or if I am hungry. All that matters is the knife, gun, and two spare battery packs in my pockets. Arson's tolerated me through so much, it's time to repay the favor*

*I sigh a bit but pick myself up quickly.* Then I guess I'm in. Can't let you have all the fun. I'll take my car and follow. Once we know arson is safe with us, I'll branch off and get the medicine. Hopefully that way we can kill both at the same time as fast as we can.

*I sit up in the cot the guys put me in, the shakes having subsided during the discussion. My mind is a bit clearer at this point, though there's only one thought running through it: revenge.*
Let me come with you guys. The leather on my jacket took the full force of their shots. I can still fight. Or at least give you an extra option of escape if I follow on my bike. Divide and conquer if we have to. But I'm not sitting here while those bastards have Arson.

'Lec, I don't know. You're drive is admirable but you're also still. Hurt. If you do come, you should come with me and Sarah in my car. That way we can all leave to get supplies and I can have someone to have the car ready for the way out in case we run into trouble.
I'll leave the decision to Gear. Not that you'll take no for an answer, huh? haha.

You know it. So what about it, Gear? Let me at least come for some backup. *I give him a pout with some puppy dog eyes, hoping it will alleviate some of the stress of the situation, as well as convince Gear I'm fine to come along.*

*I hesitate, thinking about Jump's reaction when he finds out... but I do think we'll need the extra hand.* I... I guess so. But there's no way you're taking the bike, not when you're hurt. If you go with Poison we'll have three in each car - but I don't want you hurting yourself, all right? You should be resting, not fighting.

I'll be fine. *I slowly get up, placing weight on my bad ankle. It sends a sting of pain through my body, and I try to hide a cringe of pain as I walk. Maybe I should wrap it first to give it move stability before we leave. But I don't want to risk them leaving me here to heal. I want...no...need to save Arson from those cowards that call themselves killjoys.*

*I'm unsure again when I see her wince, but shake my head and don't say anything. I don't have time to waste playing babysitter; Electric can take care of herself.* All right, everyone in! *I run to the nearby hangar where Red and I parked the vehicles, and have the van running even before Red and Max are in. As soon as the doors are all closed I hit the gas, trusting that Poison's following with Sarah and Electric. Only now do I realize it's just the three of us in the van, and if I wasn't so preoccupied I'd be more than a bit uncomfortable. As it is, I don't have time for anything as unproductive as awkwardness* You're tracking, Max? What do you need?

*I'm in the front passenger seat, the window down so I can see the road more clearly. For once, the killjoy's talking like a professional.* Stay to one side of the tracks; don't cover them. Stop if there's a juncture, a turnoff, or if I say so.
*The tire tracks are clear most of the way through the airport, and though we pull to a stop once we're through the gate and I step out to look, it only takes me a few seconds to pick up which way they'd turned. Luckily this section of road isn't traveled often, so there's not much interference. I get back in the van, the killjoy taking off again almost before I get the door closed. He doesn't say anything and neither do I; I alternate between watching the road and scanning the horizon. I hope the targets didn't take the female killjoy far. I don't want to spend all day doing this.*

*I keep driving straight, resisting the urge to just hit the gas. I don't know what Max is looking for - I can't see any pattern in the shifting streaks of dust on the pavement. We drive for maybe ten minutes before we start encountering turnoffs, and I keep having to stop and let Max out. The wind's picking up now too, and each time he takes longer before getting back in. The time is ticking by, and I feel myself getting paranoid. What if he's really still BLI, and isn't actually tracking her? What if he's just stalling, so the gang can finish Arson off, and a squad of Crow cars are headed our way? He wouldn't even have to be BLI, really, he could just hate killjoys that much...*

*I can feel the car jerk around more as Gear anxiety rises. It's a typical response and I myself am not totally immune. Images of a dead body flash through my brain and I check and recheck my gun, the spare battery packs, the knife... I am much stronger now. They won't be expecting that*
*I glance at Max and Electric. Both seem outwardly calm. I know Electric's in pain and Max... I'll owe Max a lot after this one. I adjust Arson's coat around my shoulders, ready*
