These Lights That Bind Us

[Blackout]

*i help guide Bullet and Red through a partially blocked hallway and I can see the faint light coming from the hole in the wall around the corner* this way. *i do a quick double check for any vipers and upon seeing none, I bring them over and through the hole. I blink once at the brighter light and my vision goes back to normal*

[In the Generator Room]

*I put on my infrared glasses as soon as the power goes out. I know Aerith has it built inter her helmet, so I signal to her*

Let's move out! I want to get a look at those nukes!

*We quickly make our way back up to the main room, where the chaos is dying down. The place is a mess of blood and the lesser romanticized fluids of the body*

[Max Griffiths]

*I start to follow them outside, but then pause. My orders were to stay with my partner. I hesitate for another moment, unwilling to leave the girl in the care of the killjoys, but I have a job to do. Returning through the hole in the wall, I almost immediately stumble across a gun with a detachable light on top; taking the light I work my way back down the halls. When I find Morand I illuminate his path so he can get over to me. Hearing motion to one side I quickly raise my gun, but lower it when I realize it's Wilson and the Exterminator.*

[Sylvia Main]

*As chaos ensues I find myself alone, gasping for breath and exhausted. Then the lights go out and I'm left completely in the dark. I quickly tear a piece of cloth off a Viper and light it with my lighter just in time to see a Viper run at me with a sword. I move but not fast enough. I feel the blade slice thru the armor and into my side. I cry out and quickly point my gun at him and shoot. The bullet rips his jugular in half and blood goes flying. I stand and sway for a moment before collapsing onto rubble. The light slowly extinguishes as I lose consciousness.
When I come to it's to Blackie pulling me up. At first the pain doesn't register and I mindlessly follow them. Only when we stop do I feel the pain rip through my side and lower back where I was shot earlier. I nearly double over but keep calm and to focus on trying to stay upright and escaping with the others. I see Red and cringe inwardly. She looks bad. We all look bad.*

[Blackout]

*i see Retro is wounded and I start to help bandage her side* I'm going to head back in, see if there's anything I can do to help with my eyes. Just yell if you need me to come back. *i head back inside, and as if a switch was thrown in my head, I can see clearly in the dark. Up ahead I see three vipers walking through the rubble. Time for a litle fun. I sneak up behind the closest one, clap a hand over his mouth and slit his throat*
you hear somethin?
*the second open his mouth to respond and I cut his throat before he can speak*
*i get no answer and I look around alarmed* who's there? *i have to keep myself from yelling when I see two golden eyes and white grin in front of me*
Your worst nightmare. *i slide the knife between his ribs before he can yell for help and head off to find the others*

[Incendiary Aftermath]

Aside from the fact that I was betrayed by someone i actually trusted... I'm alright... I guess. *I examine the warheads and suddenly, something hits me. Why would there be warheads here? Why didn't they just nuke the city and get it over with? If Garter was on their side the entire time... the Vipers knew we would be in the city... They knew that me and Vol would be there... Basilisk himself went in to the city. He wanted something before they torched the place... I gasp* Vol! *I step out of the room and begin firing at the Kobra units* Vanity, we need to get back to the city! Basilisk! He's after Vol! He knew we were going into the city! He knew she'd be there!

Correction. You want to go back to the city. I don't owe the kid anything. And I don't want to risk my life for her. Then again...that Basilisk guy DOES sound like my kind of person...

[Blackout]

*i follow the sound of gunshots and as I rturn a corner I see IA almost run into me* careful IA, you're gonna run into a wall or something. What's going on? *thru my night vision, the urgentness on his face stands out more*

[Bullet Ringer]

*Once we get outside I lay Red down on the ground using the medical bag as a pillow. I check her over once again so I'm satisfied she's okay* Your gonna be fine kid don't worry, you can fall asleep if you want. *I get up and walk over to Retro* Now it's your turn. How can I fix you up?

[Sylvia Main]

*I sit on a boulder, my head in one hand and the other grasping at my side. I look up at Bullet and wave him off.* No, no... I'm fine. You should probably help Max. *I point over to him and hide the worst of my injuries. I can wait- there are others that need to be treated sooner.*

[Bullet Ringer]

*I look over at Max who seems to be just standing there* He isn't the one holding his side or head in pain, let me see. *I can see the blood staining her shirt, I know She wants me to check on the others first but Red's peacefully asleep and well Retro's the one with the worst wounds.*

[Aerith Lin]

*I quickly walk at Rileys side, watching my step and keeping a look out for more vipers*
That was quite an impressive explosion line theyve got back there.. where do we go now?
*a viper on the floor makes a noise and squirms in his pain and I drop my sword straight into his back*

*I grimace and remove my hand for him to look.* It's not /that/ bad...

[Bullet Ringer]

*My eyes widen when I see the size of the gash* Okay, wait here. *I run over to Red and carefully grab what I need from the bag she's resting on, then jog back over to Retro* Hold your top up for me. *She does so and I start by cleaning around the cut to see the exact size of it* Okay this might hurt... *I open up a bottle of Jack and take a sip from it, then I pour it over the wound.* I apologize for the sting in advance. *I pour a bit more on, take another swig from the bottle and put it to one side, then start re-cleaning the cut* Here these will help, don't worry they're only painkillers no Bli meds what so ever.*I hand her the pills*

*I cry out in pain and grit my teeth together when he pours the alcohol on my wound.* As if I care... *I mumble as I take the meds from him and easily dry swallow them.* Th-thanks for this...
