*I scowl and roll my eyes when she corrects me but then she is coming at me with a scalpel. She is quick. Much too quick and I instinctively shoot her. As I watch her drop I realize I did not have time to set the gun to stun. I sigh. Such a waste. I frown at her on the floor.*

*I feel the laser blast hit my chest I thought it would hurt more but it is comfortably numb I smile as I fall to the ground into a crumpled mass* Is it finally over? Voinko tulla kotiin nyt isä? *with my last breath I manage to speak to no one in particular the world starts to darken around me but there are brilliant colors*

*I'm up and out of the bed before I know what I'm doing. Heart monitors and IV's rip out, blood down my arms and I don't even notice. Before I know it I'm at Sug's side, holding the head that was just talking to me, the hand that was holding mine still warm. Dreams of fireworks die when I look into her glassy eyes*
*Then I'm aware of alarms ringing. Alarms everywhere*

*I curse and walk over to the girl, tearing her from the dead womans side. I half carry her with one arm and throw her back on the bed. She is too weak and her attempts to fight back are futile. I put pressure on her wounds and soon a flood of nurses appears to assist me. We ignore the body on the ground.*

*I watch the monitor with rapt interest, forgetting my report. I page my assistant to go pick up the body and put it in storage. I am fascinated by both Orwell's and Red's reactions. Red reintegration has already started, it seems...*

*BLI personell surround me in a flurry of white, but all I can see is Sug's face and all I can feel are Orwell's rough hands, grinding cloth into my bleeding arms. There is nothing caring about his touch and I want him gone as soon as possible. I mentally promise Sug I will always remember as they drug me again. I'll find Max, run away, and always remember... I pass out in tears*

*We get her bleeding under control and have her rebandaged. I command the doctors to keep her heavily sedated and give her the medication I prescribed. As for May I yell at him and suspend him even further. Because of him I had to kill a killjoy whom I might have been able to reintegrate. The body is taken away, probably to the cellars. I then make a routine check up on Max and the other injured unit members. After checking monitors I see the captives are doing fine. I go back to Wilson's office and we finish our report and begin planning.*

*I lunge at the bars, reaching out at.* Don't fucking touch them! *I'm screaming. When I look at her the only thing I see is Poison being stabbed through.* If you hurt him...

*I jump up when I hear Retro, grabbing the bars of my cell and trying to see what's going on. My fists clench when I recognize the exterminator, and I'm torn between wanting to fight her and wanting to avoid trouble when we're so defenseless. Rationality wins out, although when I speak my anger is still audible* Don't let her get to you, Retro. She's just taking advantage of her chance to taunt the animals.

*Gears right. I saunter back to my cot and sit down, trying my best not to look in her general direction.*

*i watch the exchange between the exterminator and the killjoys from my post and, even though it goes against what I've been trained, I can't help but feel some sympathy for the killjoys, Maybe because I have a killjoy for a brother and I have a general idea of what he goes through almost every day*

*A week goes by in relative quiet. Orwell and I oversee the healing of Max, Red, and the twin killjoy. Once they are strong enough we move them all to separate locked rooms. I put Red on a high-calorie diet to counteract the weight loss. Soon all three of them are pacing their rooms, the killjoys in the cells not much better. I go to Orwell's office. His arm has recovered nicely. He nods when I walk through the door and points to the coffee pot*
*I take a cup and look out the window to the busy civilians below. All the happy little people...*
I think it's time to reintegrate the Killjoys, Max, and Red. Both Max and Red mumble in their sleep now, you know? It's quite interesting... if I can just force through Red's psychological barrier to talking...

*I look up from the daily newspaper I am reading.* Perhaps their adventures in the zones have softened them. The girl especially. If she has developed strong emotions or attachments to anything we could use that to our advantage on a subconscious level. Manipulate it. *I pause* I still think it is best if we keep both of them separated. We should also figure out which killjoys have the strongest attachments with one another and separate them with in groups. Our unit is so large we could divide it into two sections.
