*One minute it's quiet and Jump's about to start checking over the new girl - I still don't know her name, I realize - and the next minutes it's chaos over by the stairs. I stay back, not wanting to get in the way. Is that Red? How in the world did she get out here? I can't help but grin at the look on her face when she realizes they're twins, though. She's got spirit, that's for sure. I step back over to the new killjoy, holding out a hand to help her up* Not to inconvenience you, but I think we're going to need the couch... *Jump looks over at that, and I shrug at him, trying not to smile* She got down here on her own because we left her alone up there, Jump. You'll have to either tie her down or let her stay.

*It all happens so quickly that I barely have time to react. Fortunately, Arson is quicker than me and catches Red. I'm amazed that Red can walk at all, she must have a faster healing rate than I originally calculated, or is one of the most stupidly stubborn people I know. I try to check Red, but she pushes me away and Gear suggests she stays. By now I am thoroughly awake and a bit annoyed that my patient number has already gone up this morning* Fine, fine. Red can stay, but no more fainting or she goes back up!

*I get nervous when Gear mentions tying me down and I back up a bit on the floor, memories of BLI medical procedures creeping their way into my mind*

*I take Red's hand when she starts to back up, and follow her gaze to Gear. I frown reprovingly at him when I realize what he said that had disturbed her, but he doesn't look like he knows what he did wrong.* It's okay, Red, he was just joking. No one's tying anyone down.
*I help her up, holding her in such a way that she can walk, though I'm supporting most of her weight. I don't know about her, but I'd get tired of being carried everywhere. I let her go when we reach the couch, Jump following us over. He motions for me to get out of the way and I do so, stepping back to join Gear and punching him in the side for good measure.* Don't scare her like that.

*starts to introduce myself* my name is Moonlight Revenge, I lost my whole family and friends for BL/ind, so I escaped but a drac found me and I couldn't do anything except running away... *gets distracted by the quiet noise around me and asks if everything was alright*

*I turn to smile at Moonlight* Nice to meet you. Mind if I call you Moon? Very sorry about your family... it seems there aren't many of us out here who still have everyone. And everything's under control now, I think. Red just decided to make an unexpected trip downstairs and - *I stop myself, realizing she doesn't know who everyone is* Oh, introductions! Sorry... bit sleep deprived at the moment... I'm Arson, you already met Gear and the twins, PB and Jump. Jump's our medic, if you couldn't tell. That's Red, on the couch. She's older than she looks, though that's not saying much. Fifteen, I think?
*I look to Red for confirmation and she half nods, half shrugs, which I take for a yes. She doesn't look like she quite knows what to make of all this.* She doesn't talk, so don't get offended if she doesn't answer you. We got her out of the Tower two days ago, and she's in pretty bad shape. *I don't mention Retro, and I don't mention the fact that Red wasn't a killjoy when we got her, and I'm still not positive she wants to be one now.*
And Nack, of course. Nack's wandering around here somewhere, probably sleeping in a cupboard or something at the moment. Don't feel bad if you can't tell whether s/he's a guy or a girl - none of us can either. *I glance over at Gear and PB to see if they have anything to add, but PB's already back in the kitchen and Gear just shrugs.* I think that's it.

*I rub my side where Arson hit me, still not sure what I did, and lean against the wall so I can see the driveway through the window. Her introductions are as good as any.* So what's with your arm, Moonlight? Was it that drac you mentioned?

*I check Red over, but it looks like she didn't break anything new, which is a relief. Red doesn't look at me, but stares at the new killjoy. Her thin face looks fascinated and wary at the same time. It'll be good be good for her to start learning how inclusive the killjoy world is. Once she is settled I turn to Moon and smile* Mind if I look at that arm? Don't worry, I'm a trained doctor.

thank you, Arson for the introductions... *starts to reveal my arm and looks at Jump* I was injured by the drac when I tried to fight back, I tried to treat it but I think that I have failed and made it worse

*I look at the makeshift bandages on her arm* No, it looks like you did a great job, Moon, stopped the bleeding at least *I carefully unwind the fabric strips from what looks like an old t-shirt. Her arm is swollen around the wrist joint and partially purple. There are a few short lacerations, but they don't look deep, so I won't have to put in any stitches. I carefully flex her wrist, asking which motions are painful* Moon, I think you have a very bad sprain in your wrist and that's caused the swelling and bruising. The scrapes are mostly superficial, but I'll still need to clean and bandage them*
*I dig into my dwindling medical supplies and pull out some disinfectant, gauze, tape, and the BLI equivalent of an ACE bandage. I clean and bandage the scrape before wrapping her wrist. I sit back when I'm finished, smiling*
There! How does that feel? It should be better in a week or so, if you keep the bandage on. We'll need to change the gauze tomorrow, don't let me forget.
*The delicious smell of cooking pancakes starts to emanate from the kitchen. It's almost enough to make me forget the sun hasn't even come up yet*

Here, let me take a look. *I step over to the couch and pick up the gun. The battery looks fine, so I pick my screwdriver up off the side table and start taking off the outer casing. The wires inside are in pretty bad shape, and a couple are almost melted* Yikes... this might take a bit. I should be able to fix it, though, if I can find the right replacement wires.

the wires were always my problem, I dumped another ray gun somewhere in the Battery City while I was escaping because of the same problem...

Yeah, it's easy to overheat them. If you shoot a lot and then leave it in the sun, for example, it can just be too much for the metal to handle. *I go into the kitchen, stepping around PB, and open one of the lower cabinets* But I think I remember Glass saying something about... here!
*I pull out a dusty cardboard box full of assorted junk. It's the type of stuff that looks like it should get thrown out, but that a smart killjoy will hold onto in case it comes in handy. Near the bottom of the box I find a beat-up old ray gun that's been nearly broken in two. The wires, though, are still intact* Perfect!
*I take the gun back to the front room and sit down on the floor, pulling it apart and starting to untangle the wires inside so I can transfer them*
