I like do draw what my mind sees. It gets kinda scary in my mind sometimes.
But to make stuff realistic, yeah, I go lo'ok for analgous objects in real life to draw. If I want a certain texture, like metallic, I'll google it usually.

Google magic.
I have the unfortunate sort of imagination. What I see in my mind's eye is so purely /that/, I can't always put it to paper. :c

That's awesome! My learning style is that way. I think in pictures first and words second. At least I've been told that. How you see the world defenitly affects your art style. Wassily Kandinsky is a good example of that.

Honestly, whatever works for you. I'd hate to try to force someone to learn the way I learn just for that reason.
Wassily is a funny name.

Agreed. Art, literature, even science would be boring and stagnant if everyone tried to think the same way. Does that mean there is not just one holy grail of style, but one for each person, OR does the holy gail of style bequeath different styles to each knight that finds it?

The latter idea, I think. When each knight finds the Grail, it bestows unto them that which they seek, in accordance with how they see the world.

I bought a book full of street art. Makes me want to grab a can of spraypaint and vandalize.
(can't see it. School laptop: blocked.)

I love how everyone embraced my Grail idea. And I also like the "different style for EVERYONE!" answer.
@arson, you would be the type of guru I would want to push off a cliff but wouldn't because I need a guru. No offense. And that Homicidal Maniac stuff you say freaks me out...
@red, I can't draw what I think either. Just cos it's so pretty and complex in my mind and I can't do complex. Or pretty.

You'd push me off the cliff, and then turn around and I'd magically be sitting in the exact same spot. Also, you saying the references to Nny freak you out reminds me of Nny's lesson for Squee... Red might know what I'm referring to.... *stares off into space, imagining a hand getting cut off and a brain splattering against a brick wall*

So I went ahead and updated my self-portrait. Here's the link to the new photo: arsonanthemkj.deviantart.com/#/d49x2txAlso, at some point today I hope to start drawing Stellar and the Exterminator (not in the same picture, obviously...) so those should be up in the next few days hopefully as well.

Haha, it's almost the weekend. Expect some photos of you newbies as well from moi. Unless you don't want me to, then of course I wouldn't. We could all have a drawing party.
